In 1969, Guy Ilstad of Quatsino recounted his adventures in 1910 when the construction of the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway precipitated a land boom and he and two teenage friends were hired to stake out 10,000 acres in northern B.C. for an American company.
The conclusion to his firsthand account of that long ago trek which he entitled, “Overland to the Nass” in this week’s BC Chronicles.
